UWNCM and the Early Literacy Innovation Zone of North Central Massachusetts is fighting back against childhood learning loss due to the pandemic with the Winter Reading Challenge.

The challenge will run from December 20, 2021 to January 20, 2022. Students from Pre-K to 3rd grade are challenged to read for 15 minutes a day on the Footsteps2Brilliance® app. Each day, students can choose to read a book, write a story or play an educational game. The top three readers will win a Kindle Fire Tablet and the top class will earn prize bags courtesy UWNCM.

“UWNCM is excited to offer this popular reading challenge again this year,” says UWNCM Director of Community Impact Judy Tomlinson. “We encourage all young readers in our community to participate as a way to get engaged and explore new ideas and adventures through reading.”
