Youth Venture Scholarship Winner: Landon Tucker

In 2017, high school soccer star Landon Tucker found himself sidelined after he suffered four successive concussions. Instead of letting his injuries get the best of him, Tucker decided to focus his strong drive and leadership skills elsewhere to make a difference in his community.

Each year, many of the police offers and fire fighters who protect our communities, sacrifice their holiday time with their families by working on Christmas Day. Last year, high school student Caleb VanHillo made the holidays a little merrier for these first responders with his Meals for Shields Project.

UNITED WAY COMBAT HUNGER INITIATIVE KICKS OFF LANDMARK YEAR AT MONTACHUSETT REGIONAL VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOOL

Food packaging program sets its sights on 1 million meals delivered to local charities FITCHBURG, MA, April 25, 2019 – Monty Tech students helped set the stage for a milestone year at the 2019 United Way 3rd Annual Combat Hunger Kick Off Event on April 24. Students packaged 22,224 meals for local food pantries, bringing the Combat Hunger initiative’s total to 928,920 meals packaged since it was founded in 2013. The program is now expected to reach one million meals in November of this year.

United Way Recognizes Volunteers and Donors at 39th Annual Thank-You Event

Local companies, students, and supporters applauded for commitment to community LEOMINSTER, MA April 25, 2019 — The United Way of North Central Massachusetts (UWNCM) celebrated the efforts of volunteers and donors to better their community at its 39th Annual Thank-You Event on April 24th. More than 100 attendees gathered for an evening of appreciation and entertainment at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Leominster.
