United Way’s reading initiative surpasses 1,000 mark

United Way of North Central Massachusetts has signed up over 1,000 children through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and Reading First, a literacy coalition in North Central Massachusetts, which provides free books to Fitchburg, Leominster, Gardner, Templeton and Winchendon children.

Four volunteer projects receive cash awards from United Way Community Builders

United Way of North Central Massachusetts' President Phil Grzewinski congratulates Kylee McCumber of Leominster, who won United Way Community Builders' grand prize of $1,000 for Kylee's Kare Kits for Kidz project. The Kare Kits provide food items to Leominster elementary students on the weekend when they don't have access to school lunch.
