Fitchburg, Mass (September 26, 2012) - United Way of North Central Massachusetts has announced $2.5 million in grants and distributions, made during its recently completed fiscal year. "Because of the generosity of our donors, United Way can support numerous local, vital services that are improving lives in our community," said Bob Chauvin, volunteer chairman of United Way of North Central Massachusetts.
Leominster, Mass. (Sept. 20, 2012) - Hundreds of volunteers spent Thursday helping the nonprofit community with maintenance and other projects as part of the United Way Day of Caring. United Way of North Central Massachusetts, which hosts the annual event with a kickoff breakfast at the Four Points Sheraton, also uses the day to officially launch its annual campaign drive.
The United Way Campaign for the Common Good will mobilize millions of people and organizations across the country to take action and improve the education, income and health of America's communities. The campaign kicks off with a focus on education and an ambitious goal to cut the high school dropout rate in half.
