To help those interested in volunteering find project specific opportunities, Community Builders has added an online calendar to its website. “We are finding that more and more people want very specific and defined volunteer opportunities that they can tailor to their busy lifestyles,” noted Karin Oliveira, director of Community Builders. “People want to help, but their own resources are limited, especially their time.”
For Release (Tuesday, February 02, 2009) – Workers’ Credit Union made a $10,000 donation to United Way’s Community Support Fund, which is providing emergency food and heating assistance to local families. “Workers’ Credit Union’s commitment to the community is second to none,” commented Phil Grzewinski, president of United Way of North Central Massachusetts. In October, United Way created the Community Support Fund to provide immediate emergency relief to individuals and families in the North Central Massachusetts region.
