The United Way of North Central Massachusetts and Ashoka's Youth Venture joined in a collaborative partnership to implement a program called United Way Youth Venture, which is empowering young people.

United Way Community Builders' mission is to build social capital by engaging the citizens of North Central Massachusetts.

United Way of North Central Massachusetts

Request for Proposals - FY 2010-2011

 


The United Way of North Central Massachusetts strives to make the greatest possible difference improving lives and building a stronger community in the 19 communities it serves in North Central Massachusetts.

 

The United Way is focused on the most critical health and human service priorities and the steps needed to fix them. We are engaging the community - residents, youth, nonprofits, businesses and civic leaders - to get the results that no one can accomplish alone - creating lasting change in people's lives and the community.

 

 

Summary

Under this year's Request for Proposals (RFP), the United Way of North Central Massachusetts is accepting applications from all 501(c)(3) health and human service organizations serving North Central Massachusetts for funding for the upcoming 2010-2011 fiscal year. This will be a competitive, open application process and will include two steps (Download Grant Application Steps/Guidelines):

 

1) Submission of a Letter of Intent Application Cover Page (When opening the file, you will receive a Security Warning. Click on Enable Macros), Letter of Intent (LOI) and Budget.(When opening the file, you may receive a message: "The file is in a different format than specified."  Click Yes) Deadline is February 22, 2010.

 

2) Invitation to submit a full RFP.  Deadline is March 15, 2010.

 

Qualified organizations can apply for programs that are currently receiving funds and/or apply for new funding for new programs or initiatives that develop strategies that speak to the Leadership Priorities outlined in the most recent Community Assessment - specifically


Youth Development and Education - as it pertains to

  • o Alcohol/Drug Abuse
  • o After School Programs
  • o Drop Out Rate
  • o Teen Pregnancy

 

Public Health Issues - as it pertains to

  • o Alcohol/Drug Abuse
  • o Teen Pregnancy
  • o Domestic Violence

  • o January 20, 2010 RFP and Letter of Intent Announcement
  • o February 22, 2010 Deadline for Letter of Intent, Grant Application Form and Budget
  • o March 15, 2010 Notify all applicants whether they are invited to submit a full RFP 
  • o April 26, 2010 Full RFP Proposals due from invited agencies
  • o July 21, 2010 Award notification sent by United Way
